I grew up watching my brothers answer the call to military service, and not long after high school, I followed in their footsteps. Joining the U.S. Coast Guard was one of the best decisions I ever made. My brothers served in the Air Force, and I had the privilege of working alongside men and women from every branch of the military. Though our uniforms and missions differed, we shared something unbreakable, a commitment to family, to service, and to sacrifice. We understood the long days, the missed milestones, and the quiet pride that comes with putting others before yourself. Once you serve, you’re part of a global family bound by duty and respect.
